While Formula 1 is the headline act, the race weekend is packed with top-tier action from exciting support series. Below you’ll find a quick rundown of FIA Formula 2, Formula 3, and Porsche Supercup — all of which regularly run alongside F1 on Grand Prix weekends.
The final step before F1.
F2 is the main feeder series to Formula 1, showcasing the best young talent ready to make the leap to the big stage. All teams use identical cars, so the focus is entirely on driver skill. Each race weekend includes a Sprint Race and a Feature Race, both often full of drama, strategy, and overtakes. Recent F2 graduates include Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Gabriel Bortoleto or Isack Hadjar.
Where future stars begin their international journey.
F3 is a highly competitive junior series featuring large grids and close racing. It’s a key training ground for young drivers, many of whom are in their late teens. The cars are slightly less powerful than F2, but the battles are just as intense, making it a fan favorite for pure racing action.
Identical cars. Pure racing.
This one-make GT series features identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars and delivers fast-paced, no-nonsense racing. Porsche Supercup races mainly support European F1 rounds and attract a mix of professional drivers and ambitious privateers. Expect tight battles, bold overtakes, and the unmistakable roar of Porsche engines.
